Nikodem
Nikodem (or Niko for short) is a cheerful little boy who loves exploring in nature. He nearly always has a stick with him and loves to lift rocks to see the bugs underneath. He will happily hold snails and other insects and he likes to watch and feel them as they move across his hand. His foster carer says she takes plenty of antibacterial wipes for him when they’re out!
Niko was removed from his birth family when he was 18 months old due to signs of neglect and domestic violence within the home. His birth mum has admitted to smoking while pregnant and evidence of drug use was found.
Niko is delayed in his gross motor skills and has only recently learn to walk. He is clumsy in his movements which may be a sign of a condition like dyspraxia, but equally might be a result of his early life and in utero experiences. At this stage in his life it is too early to know and so we need adopters who will accept the uncertainties over what this may mean for Niko as he develops.
Age: 2 ½ years
