Mason and Millie

Mason is a huge fan of imaginative play, and loves to dress up as a fire fighter or doctor. Now Millie is getting older she’ll join in, and the two of them enjoy playing “shops” together. Mason is definitely the more outgoing of the two but, when Millie feels like she’s not getting enough attention, she will definitely make herself heard!

Mason was removed from his birth family’s care when he was 3, and Millie was 1. They have two older brothers and all four siblings lived together, with the three boys especially experiencing significant neglect. The decision has been made that the two older boys will be placed in long term foster care, whereas a plan of adoption has been made for Mason and Millie.

Mason can show difficult behaviours and struggles to regulate his emotions. He is receiving ongoing support to help him process his early experiences. Millie can be socially withdrawn but both siblings, with consistent, therapeutic parenting, are making huge progress.

Mason has just started school and is very excited that he gets to wear his “big boy uniform” every day. He slightly behind his peers but is trying his hardest to catch up. Millie attends a regular playgroup with her carer and although she was reluctant at first, has now started leaving her carer to go and seek out interactions with other children.

We are looking for adopters who can support these siblings to retain their sibling bond, and also have a relationship with their two older brothers in foster care. Adopters will need to accept the uncertainties of what their early life experiences may have on them.

Age: 4 and 2

Ethnicity: White British
