Jacob

Jacob is a happy, content little boy who has just started to take his first steps. He can regularly be found cruising round the furniture at his foster carers and he loves interactive nursery rhymes, like Row, Row, Row Your Boat and Wind the Bobbin Up.

Both of Jacob’s birth parents have learning disabilities and his dad also has epilepsy. They live in supported living. Jacob was with them for the first few months of his life but the decision has been made that they will not be able to meet his long term needs and a plan of adoption has been decided for Jacob.

Jacob is meeting all of his milestones and has so far tested negatively for related health concerns. While there will always be a level of uncertainty around Jacob’s future development, currently he is a healthy, joyful little boy with no obvious worries.

His foster carer says he is very easy to care for, and he fits in well into their home. Jacob eats and sleeps well, typically sleeping from 7am-7pm and they say he always wakes up with a grin. He is starting to walk and he loves to be taken to the park, the local farm or to soft play. He is starting to show interest in other children and loves to snuggle with his foster carer for a story.

It will be important for Jacob as he grows to maintain a relationship with his birth parents and we are looking for adopters who can support him with this.
