Virtual schools

A Virtual School is a statutory service which fulfils the Local Authority’s duties in ensuring that children and young people in care, previously in care and those with a social worker receive the best possible educational provision and outcomes. Each Local Authority has its own virtual school and virtual school Head Teacher.

Your virtual school will be able to offer advice and signposting to adoptive families. Each offer is different; some can also offer specialist training to schools in their region about adoption, early trauma and supporting adopted children in school.
