Black adopters event
On Tuesday 1st September we invite you to attend our Black adopters event.
This early-evening event is designed to encourage and support single people and couples who are considering adoption or who are early in their journey.
The event is for people who are Black, of mixed Black heritage or in a mixed Black relationship.
During the event, you will have the chance to:
Hear from Black adopters
Learn more about the adoption process
Share your views on potential barriers
Understand Adoption Counts’ RACE Matters training, and why finding homes for Black children is so important to us
If you are interested in attending please complete the short form below. A member of our team will call you to understand more about where you are in your adoption journey, and to share the exact details of how to join the event.
What happens at the virtual information events?
-
You will receive a Teams invite to join the meeting, and our presenters will be delivering the meeting online. You will be joined by other potential adopters who will be listening in with you.
-
The event lasts around 90 minutes.
-
If you wish to proceed or have any questions, we will be here to help. To move on to the next stage, we will organise a more in-depth conversation so that we can find out more about your personal circumstances, gauge your initial thoughts and answer any questions you may have.
The next step after that will be an Initial Meeting (usually remote) with a Social Worker or Recruitment Manager.
“The event was in depth, professional and had realism – the most informative event we have attended. The information was realistic and helped to know what we need to research; it left us feeling excited and motivated after with an element of realism and reassured to hear the agency is there to help and guide us through this journey”
— Sue and Simon, adopters
