Training and events for family life

Throughout the year we have a busy programme of social events, peer groups, training events and virtual drop-ins.

You can access the programme for 2026 here.

These are in addition to events that are run by our Adopter Voice champions such as stay and play mornings and family rambles. Learn more about Adopter Voice here.

  • CATCH is our online resource hub, where parents can log on at any time to access webinars, training, a parent forum and more. Adoption Counts families can access CATCH for free.  Visit the CATCH website here.

  • Can join Proud 2 be Parents activities and groups, as well as New Family Social networks and forums. Contact your social worker to find out more.

  • We run workshop sessions for parents of all age of children, on topics such as working with your child’s school, neurodiversity and parenting, as well as looking after yourself for parents.

  • We run sessions on topics such as teens and brain development, maintaining relationships or reconnecting with birth relatives, online safety and gaming.

  • These are run to help teenage peers socialise and support each other. They are facilitated by a member of our team and designed as a ‘safe space’ to share feelings around being adopted.

  • We run two family fun-days annually, giving you and your children the chance to socialise with each other and build relationships. This is in addition to events that are run by our Adopter Voice champions, which include activities like family rambles and stay-and-play mornings.

  • You will have the opportunity to sign up to our monthly newsletter where all of our events and activities are advertised, as well as any key updates about adoption more generally. If you are one of our adopters and aren’t receiving the newsletter, please email ACevents@adoptioncounts.org.uk

If you are already one of our adopters and want to learn more about the training on offer please email ACevents@adoptioncounts.org.uk
